  • Attention Gtech Users: According to the Experts, You're a Smart Consumer

Gtech AirRam Receives Four Prestigious Design and Product Awards

When you purchased your Gtech AirRam, you made an investment. It's important to us that you know you made a sound one. And according to some of the most respected home product experts and designers in the world, you did!

    Gtech-Awards
In just the last few weeks, we have received some major accolades. First, home improvement heavyweight, This Old House, included us in their much sought after, annual "TOH Top 100: Best New Home Products"

"Oh, the pleasure of vacuuming without constantly snaking the power cord out of the way! It deposits debris in a chamber... compacting it into tidy bales rather than pulling it through a series of tubes, filters and bags. At 7.7 pounds, it handles like a dream."
    - This Old House Top 100: Best New Home Products Review

If that wasn't enough, Good Housekeeping, the magazine that has been advising people on the best products for their home for nearly 130 years (seriously... we checked, they launched in 1885!) gave us their coveted seal of approval.

“Lightweight and convenient to use, this cordless cleaner scored a hit with the GHI testers. Using only a fraction of the electricity of its main competitors it packed a punch, picking up dirt and debris with ease.”
    - Good Housekeeping’s Head of Consumer Testing, Patricia Schofield

Now here's one you may not be as familiar with, but it's a biggie. Your AirRam also picked up a prestigious GOOD DESIGN award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in the Household Products category. We were cited as a breakthrough in vacuum cleaner design. For those who don't know, GOOD DESIGN is the world’s oldest, most recognized program for design excellence. We were chosen among thousands of entries from nearly 40 countries around the world.

And did we mention we just got back from CES? Ok, for those not in the know or not of the nerdy, techie type, CES is the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas (baby). And what happened there won't stay there (if we have anything to do with it). We are thrilled to let you know that our  AirRam 100 Watt Eco Vacuum Cleaner won an Envisioneering Innovation & Design Award Honoree for 2014!

So it looks like we are off to a great start! We thank you for being part of our journey and passion to rethink what has always been and find ways to make life easier. And we will not rest on our laurels! We will continue to rethink, redesign and reimagine as we make our way through 2014. As always, share your thoughts with us and let us know what we can do to make sure you love our products and ...dare we say it?... discover a love of vacuuming!

  • Check Out Nick's Live Demo from the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas as He Talks to Top Tech Site

Nothing beats the opportunity to show people live and in person the power of your products and their ability to make life easier. No place is better to do that than at the mother of all consumer electronics shows, CES, in Las Vegas! And who better to demo our products than the man himself, Nick Grey! Check out one of the live demos he did with Senior Video Correspondent, Todd Townsend, of the tech site, aNewDomain.com.... and find out why Nick owes the AirRam's success to his Mom! (What a good son :)

  • Christmas Comes Early to Gtech Thanks to One of the Country's Top Tech Guru's, Techno Claus

David Pogue selects the AirRam in round up of “Tech Gifts” to place under your tree.

So we must have been very good this year. As you can imagine, it was quite a holiday treat to find that our AirRam was featured on CBS Sunday Morning's, "Holiday Gift Ideas from Techno Claus" segment for Christmas. For those who know him, this holiday gadget guru is actually David Pogue, one of the most respected technology writers in the country. The former New York Times columnist is now writing for Yahoo and contributes on CBS Sunday Morning.

Pogue donned a Santa suit and composed a fun-loving ode to the latest and greatest tech treats to put under your tree. He called us powerful, lightweight and flexible. And as a lover of all things tech, our green technology and ability to track usage helped us stand out from the competition like tinsel on a tree.

"It uses less juice than its rival, nice touch, and hooks to a laptop to show you how much!"
    - David Pogue (aka Techno Claus)

Take a moment to check out his catchy holiday rhyme as he takes us through the best tech gifts of the season... and be sure not to miss our mention at 2:58. :-)

A Very Happy Holidays to All and To All a Good Night!

  • Tech Writer Takes our Gtech AirRam for a Test Drive.. Calls Us the "Tesla" of Vacuums!

Well, this one got our engines revving. Who wouldn't want to be put in the same category as one of the world's leading electric cars? Recently, the award winning daily web magazine, Slate.com, did a review of the latest stand out technology. And the Gtech AirRam not only made the cut, tech writer, Will Oremus, loved our vacuum!

After taking it for a test drive, he said he found our AirRam "surprisingly light and agile. It twists and pivots with a wide range of motion." OK, we know it handles like a dream, but how about picking up dirt?

slate_quoteOremus wrote, "The AirRam made light work of my off-white living-room rug, which usually requires multiple passes before it starts to resemble its original shade. It handled my other rugs and hardwood floors with equal aplomb. It worked so well, and was so easy to maneuver, that I began to look around for other surfaces to clean."

This is where things went off the map. Slate.com's intrepid tech writer took the AirRam where it's never gone before... to his cat's rug tree. How did it fare? Oremus says, "Amazingly, it worked, taking about two years off the cat tree’s appearance."

Of course, that leaves one question... what did Mr. Oremus's feline friend think of AirRam's cleaning power? I think we can venture a guess his feline friend found it purrfect... (ok, that was corny, but hey, we're still a little giddy from the review). To find out what kitty really thought, read the full review by clicking here.

  • We listen! ... Customer Suggestion Leads to Warranty Benefit for All!

At Gtech, customer service is job one. Recently a customer contacted us on Facebook asking why our batteries were not covered under our two year warranty. And you know what? It was a good question. So we looked into it.

Our batteries have been extensively tested and designed to last up to 5,000 charges or roughly 5 years of use, which is way beyond the warranty. So I guess we figured it was all good. But our customer made the point that if it is good for about 5 years, why not make it part of the 2 year warranty? Again, good question. So we took this request straight to Gtech's founder and AirRam inventor, Nick Grey, and he agreed! So, thanks to one customer's suggestion, now all batteries... and that means yours too.. are covered for two years along with the vacuum!

“That is great news, and a solid indication that Gtech strives to put its customers first. My grateful thanks to you and Mr. Grey,”
    Richard Rogers, AirRam customer.

Yes, we make a great vacuum, and we know it will make your life easier, but we also want you to know, above all, your satisfaction is important to us... and we really do listen.

See the story as it unfolded on Facebook [Go to Richard Roger’s post under “Recent Posts by Others”]. And be sure to send us add your comments and suggestions too. We want to hear from you!

nyyyytIn the July 4 issue of The New York Times, reviewer Gregory Schmidt highlights the AirRam’s exciting journey into the land of the free, calling to attention the “efficient, compact design that eliminates tubes and bags and incorporates a professional- grade lithium-ion battery.” Yes, excellent stuff: professional grade cleaning for the non-professional cleaner.

Plus, “at seven and a half pound, the AirRam is light.” For those playing at home, it’s less than a gallon of milk. Schmidt also gave a shout-out to the easy to dispose bales created by our upright vacuum cleaner. • The AirRAM Bagless Vacuum Cleans Up on “The View” and “Wendy Williams”

The Gtech AirRAM is starting to enjoy its position as the forerunner of vacuum cleaner technology. Its revolutionary design is turning heads, and it was recently featured on “Wendy Williams,” as well as on “The View,” in a special segment for “The Best Spring Gadgets of 2013.” Dr. Gadget is usually an enthusiastic character, but was especially excited about Gtech’s 7.7-pound, battery-powered AirRAM bagless vacuum cleaner.

The clip from “The View” highlights all the wonderful features this small, lightweight machine is packing. It’s energy-efficient, space-saving, rechargeable, and excellent for getting all those bits of debris off any floor surface. Lance Bass loved it during the segment and the AirRAM looked good up there next to the other gadgets, too. I dare say the AirRAM upright vacuum cleaner was the star of the show. Watch the clip below to see how easily it removes studio lint from the sample carpet, to much applause.

    [hana-code-insert name='AirRam Jams 2' /]

Music is motivational. It’s easy to get lost in thought, so why not put a beat to your work to keep your brain tapping in time? Studies have shown that a soundtrack is an efficient and pleasurable way to break out of repetitive work cycles. A recent article by The New York Times confirmed that music in the workplace allows your brain to think more creatively because you are actually, biologically happier. Melodies release mood-elevating dopamine in the part of your brain associated with rewards, like the rewards of a clean room and a fresh start.

We’ve selected a playlist of the best songs to highlight Spring Cleaning’s rewards. Open the drapes, fling your windows wide, and let our music put some bounce in your step as you make your way around the room with our cordless vacuum cleaner. Since we’re in the business of innovation, why not make a dance of it? Listen to our new #AirRamJam playlist for the best music to usher in a beautiful new Spring. Just because there’s something in the air doesn’t mean there should be something on the floor.

  • Get Ready to Get Floored! Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Creator Gtech Launches AirRam in America

On May 7th, Gtech hosted an exclusive event for the US launch of the revolutionary AirRam at The Glass Houses in New York City. The AirRam cleaned up, receiving much fanfare. Gtech has re-imagined the cordless vacuum cleaner, which positions the company on the crest of a wave of innovative technologies. Everything is changing for the better, and our product launch showed the American public how the AirRam has made cleaning better forever.

AirRam Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Launch Event

Over conversation and light hors’ doeuvres, Josh Klein, Hacker Strategist and Host of The Link on the National Geographic Channel, spoke on the new power of emerging technologies. His presentation focused on an eclectic mix of new, clever products and suggested that their success has come about because “technology is utterly changing consumers by empowering them in a whole new way.”

You might wonder how that happens. At Gtech we understand that a “whole new way” is a concert of utility, look, and wild new ideas. That’s why the AirRam uses far less power, doesn’t use a cyclone, and looks so sleek and friendly.

After Josh’s thought provoking presentation, Gtech founder Nick Grey weighed in on the topic of innovative technology and explained his vision for the AirRam. He encouraged the audience to think about the evolution of television sets. First, they were huge, with wires hanging everywhere. Now they’re slender and portable. Think about the evolution of vacuums, with the AirRam right at the end. Does the process look familiar? The AirRam is not just a new vacuum; it’s a new way of thinking about vacuums.

Finally, Greg McCormick brought it all home with benefits of the AirRam upright vacuum cleaner. Each of the presentations was enlightening and helped solidify the AirRam as the next big thing in cleaning technology across America.

Here’s what some of the event guests had to say:
