  • Gtech USA is on the Move! Check Out the New Digs!

    IMAG0358

We've been busy here at Gtech USA, not only working hard to provide the best-loved vacuum in America, but also moving to our new US headquarters in the funky little hamlet of Paulus Hook in Jersey City, New Jersey!

We are so excited to start working from our new office space, just a stone's throw from the Big Apple. In fact, we have a beautiful view of the new World Trade Center, right down the street, across the mighty Hudson River.

This will now be the new hub of our operations. We are homegrown at our US base of operations. And, hey, we're from 'Jersey... what more could you ask for? (oh yeah, and in answer to your next question, its exit 14C).

For those who don't know, Paulus Hook in Jersey City, which is just across from downtown Manhattan, is a city on the move. There's a great history here; it's on the National Register of Historic Places for its pivotal role in the American Revolution (google Battle of Paulus Hook), and in the last decade a burgeoning arts district and major redevelopment has brought in new businesses, young urban professionals, families, fantastic cafes and shops to explore. It's a great place to visit!

What's more, this area of Jersey City is just a stone's throw from our Lady Liberty and Ellis Island.. where so many people came to the New World to find their success in America. For thousands of immigrants, their first steps in the New World were taken here. So it seems quite appropriate that Gtech USA should land here... seeking to bring the same success we've had across the pond (where are the fastest growing vacuum brand in the UK in 2013*) to the US! Our goal is to bring that same love of vacuuming to millions of people across America.

But to really understand the beauty of this area, you have to see it. So we put together a little tour of our new digs, the local landmarks and the amazing views. Check out our photos here on our Facebook page and there's plenty more to come as we welcome new team members to our Gtech USA team. And while you're there, please be sure to "like" our page so we can keep you up to date on all the Gtech happenings.

  • Zoinks! Product Review, "Zell or Zilch," Gives AirRam Props on Performance & Function

    wccb

Cool name, huh? "Zell or Zilch" may be a catchy title, but when it comes to reviewing new products, consumer reporter Kristine Zell, from Charlotte's WCCB, pulls no punches. This lady tells it like it is when it comes to reviewing the latest products on the market. Products get her props or "Zell" if all goes well.. or a big old "Zilch" if she thinks customers should move along.

As you can imagine, we were excited to hear that she chose our AirRam to review in a segment about modern cleaning products with a twist. When the segment finally aired, we were there, watching with anticipation! The first product (not ours) got a big old "Zilch!"... Ouch! Then it was our turn. Zell took our AirRam for a spin around her own home. Right off the top, she called it "super light weight" and easy to maneuver. So far so good. But what did she think about the cleaning power?

"It really did a good job of picking up a lot of junk that I had, I wasn't sure because it is so lightweight and it is cordless but I was impressed... It stays charged for 40 minutes, that was plenty of time to clean my house." - Kristine Zell, Zell or Zilch

Phew! She liked it... well, that's not true.. her actual words?

"I love, love, loved it!.... for performance and function I'm giving it a Zell!" - Zell

Woo-Hoo! We got a Zell! (I wonder if we get a trophy to go along with it) Anyway, we're happy our AirRam's performance, function and power stood out to this no holds barred consumer reporter.

  • Tech Writer Takes our Gtech AirRam for a Test Drive.. Calls Us the "Tesla" of Vacuums!

Well, this one got our engines revving. Who wouldn't want to be put in the same category as one of the world's leading electric cars? Recently, the award winning daily web magazine, Slate.com, did a review of the latest stand out technology. And the Gtech AirRam not only made the cut, tech writer, Will Oremus, loved our vacuum!

After taking it for a test drive, he said he found our AirRam "surprisingly light and agile. It twists and pivots with a wide range of motion." OK, we know it handles like a dream, but how about picking up dirt?

slate_quoteOremus wrote, "The AirRam made light work of my off-white living-room rug, which usually requires multiple passes before it starts to resemble its original shade. It handled my other rugs and hardwood floors with equal aplomb. It worked so well, and was so easy to maneuver, that I began to look around for other surfaces to clean."

This is where things went off the map. Slate.com's intrepid tech writer took the AirRam where it's never gone before... to his cat's rug tree. How did it fare? Oremus says, "Amazingly, it worked, taking about two years off the cat tree’s appearance."

Of course, that leaves one question... what did Mr. Oremus's feline friend think of AirRam's cleaning power? I think we can venture a guess his feline friend found it purrfect... (ok, that was corny, but hey, we're still a little giddy from the review). To find out what kitty really thought, read the full review by clicking here.

  • Quick Cleaning Tips From Our Cordless Vacuum Cleaner Team

It’s strange how quickly the day can pass you by!

Your to-do list may include only two or three things, but as you enter the day, you find tangential items to suck your time up and keep you occupied for far longer than you anticipated. We understand. Maybe you lose your wallet and your keys for a while, looking under and inside everything with an underneath or an interior only to find them both in your right hand, and company’s going to be there in twenty minutes and you haven’t cleaned up yet.

In a world like this, it’s important to save time when you can. It’s why we’ve made our cordless vacuum cleaner so simple, so light, and so easy to use. In the spirit of the efficiency mission, here are some tips to get the house clean in time, with a minute or two to sit on your couch.

    Quick Cleaning Tips

    IMG SRC: http://www.sandiegoprocleaning.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/dusting-furniture.s600x600.jpg

Wipe surfaces once with minimal cleaner

Your instinct is to pile on the cleaning solution when you’re in a hurry to clean your surfaces, but wiping once will kill the bacteria and usually remove the mess. Excessive cleaner will leave visible residue.

    Wear an apron

Seem silly? Not as silly as ruining your outfit with bleach, or soaking yourself with water. Let the apron bear the brunt of your cleaning frenzy, and toss it aside when you’re done. It will save you time not worrying about getting anything on your outfit.

Organize your cleaning supplies every time

Make sure that you always know exactly where each type of cleaner you use is at all times, and group all your cleaners together. That way there’s never a scramble, and you can approach the cleaning methodically.

    Clean logically

Move from area to area; don’t haphazardly clean random parts of each room on instinct because you see a mess somewhere. Take it one room at a time, and go from dry to wet, i.e. dust first, then wipe; sweep first, then mop, etc. A routine is the path to efficiency.

And when push comes to shove, if you need your home to look tidy for guests, get creative! If the dishwasher is full, throw the rest of your dishes in the oven. No one will see them there! (Note: This only works if you don’t plan on cooking for your guests).

Don’t worry about vacuuming, the AirRam has made it painless and fast. It’s the best cordless vacuum for the job. Follow these tips, develop your own, and you’ll be doing an hour’s worth of cleaning in fifteen minutes!

What are you doing to clean up quickly? We’d love to hear your tips, too, so tell us about them on Facebook and Twitter! Keep checking the blog for more updates the cleaning world.

  • Experts Weigh in Gtech Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

    The AirRam is on fire!

Media and public alike have unanimously cried out in praise of the energy-saving, lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner, and we can’t say we’re surprised. It’s light, it’s efficient, it saves energy, and it looks like a friendly companion to any American home.

In case you’re not convinced, we’ve let the experts speak for us. Here’s an installment of the AirRam Review Roundup, for your reading pleasure:

    apttherapyApartment Therapy

ApartmentTherapy.com’s rave review of the AirRam highlights all the keystone features of our lovely little vacuum, focusing on the energy-efficient lithium-ion battery and the absence of a cord. It also mentions that the AirRam’s perfect for getting the little things kids seem to leave everywhere.

    Wired

This review from Wired shows that the AirRam can be fun for your children to use, which is good news for you. It also dissects the important comparison between a Dyson model and the superior AirRam.

    Slash Gear

Slash Gear’s review of the AirRam says that it revolutionizes vacuuming, and we tend to agree. The focus here is on energy-efficiency (100 watts per use, rather than the industry average of 2000 watts) and the data bridge, which lets you keep your finger on the pulse of your energy use (both in the device and in your body; the calorie counter handles the latter).

    Popular Mechanics

A Popular Mechanics blog pitted the Gtech AirRam against a New York City apartment with excellent results. This review highlights just how user-friendly the AirRam is, with power bars to show how much time you have before charging, the Data bridge again, and how easily it fits under your furniture.

These are just the heaviest hitters of the multitudinous reviews out there already since the AirRam made a name for itself in America this year. User reviews abound, and there’s really nothing negative to say about the AirRam! We’ll keep rounding them up as they’re released, but that should give you something to ponder for the interim. Let the AirRam redesign the way you clean your home or apartment, and you’ll see what we’re all so excited about.

What do you think of the AirRam? Give us your reviews on Facebook and Twitter, and keep checking our blog for more updates!
